How to Manually Create a System Restore Point in Windows 7

What if your PC doesn’t boot up? A normal user will try to recover it by system restore which will restore the PC it to a previously saved point on the computer when everything worked fine. But what if you don’t have a saved restore point on your computer? Generally, a computer automatically creates a restore point when you install an application or a driver on it but sometimes installation fails and it can cause an unexpected change to your computer or cause Windows to behave unpredictably. So, it is important for us to create a restore point on our PC.

What is a System Restore?

System Restore helps you restore your computer’s system files to an earlier time. It’s a way to undo system changes to your computer without affecting your personal data. If installation of a software or driver fails, that can cause damage to your system.  Usually, uninstalling the software or driver solves the problem. But when uninstalling doesn’t fix the problem, you have to restore your computer to an earlier time when everything was correct.

Steps to Manually Create a System Restore Point

Step 1: Click on “Start” Button and type “Create a Restore Point” and hit ”Enter” key on your keyboard.

Step 2: A new window named “System Properties” will appear.

Step 3: Click on “System Protection” tab and further click on “Create” button.

Step 4:  Now type a name for your Manual System Restore Point in the text-box on the new window.

 

Step 5: Now click on the “Create” button

A processing screen will appear.

Step 6: Click on “Close” button on a screen like this.

Step 7: Click on “System Restore” button on “System Properties” window and check if your manual system restore point was created or not.
